UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik)

Definition:

India's Regional Connectivity Scheme launched in 2016 to make air travel affordable for tier-2 / tier-3 cities. Modified UDAN was cleared by the Union Cabinet on 25 March 2026 with a ₹28,840 crore outlay over FY 2026-27 to FY 2035-36 to build 100 new airports + 200 helipads.

Context & Usage

UDAN 2.0 is the single largest hiring tailwind for Indian airport ground operations through 2035.
