Roadmap: how to become a Commis Chef
Step 1
Meet eligibility criteria
Complete 12th pass from any stream. Passion for cooking, physical stamina for long kitchen hours, willingness to work in commercial kitchen heat and pressure. No prior cooking experience needed.
Step 2
Enroll in full Culinary Arts program
Join Wings Institute Culinary Arts & Professional Chef Training (full campus program) — hands-on practice across all 12 brigade stations including hot kitchen, cold kitchen, bakery, butchery, garde manger, pastry and plating.
Step 3
Complete certifications
Earn HACCP food safety, Indian cuisine, continental cuisine, bakery & confectionery and kitchen brigade hands-on certifications.
Step 4
Start your career
Begin as Commis 3 → Commis 2 → Commis 1, advance to Demi Chef de Partie, Chef de Partie, Sous Chef and eventually Executive Chef. Wings places at Taj, Marriott, Oberoi, ITC kitchens, cruise ships and 5-star QSR brands.
