What is a hostile audit?
A hostile audit is a self-imposed, adversarial review of every public claim we make. Each claim is challenged: is it true, what's the data source, what are the limitations, and would a hostile reviewer accept it? We publish this transparently every year because trust in education-sector marketing has eroded — and we believe transparency is how we earn it back.
This 2026 audit covers all claims published on wingsinstitute.com as of 2026-05-01:
Status: Verified
Source: Internal alumni database tracked since 2008. Includes graduates who completed all course modules + internship and joined any role in aviation/hospitality/cruise/travel.
Definition: "Alumni" means a student who completed the full course (12 months) + 6-month internship. Drop-outs and partial completions are not counted.
Methodology: Maintained in internal CRM with student ID + employer + start date + role. Publicly verifiable via wingsinstitute.com/placements (sample list).
Limitations: Some alumni from 2008-2015 lack confirmed current employer status (likely changed jobs or not contactable). The 5,000+ figure is conservative — alumni count is higher when including these.
Status: Verified — with caveats
Source: Internal placement tracking by batch.
Definition: "Placed" = student received and accepted at least one job offer in the relevant industry within 12 months of internship completion. Placement does NOT mean immediate full-time job; some are internship-converted offers.
Methodology: Tracked by batch, by course. Verified via offer letters retained in placement cell records.
Limitations: Placement rate is a moving target — measured 12 months after internship. Active batches still in progress are not included. Recent placement rates (last 24 months): 92-95% across courses, with cabin crew highest, ground staff lowest.
Status: Verified
Source: Self-reported alumni surveys + offer letter data + publicly available employer salary disclosures.
Definition: Salary ranges represent typical band — not best-case or worst-case outliers. "Entry" = first 0-2 yr. "Senior" = 5-10 yr.
Methodology: Annual alumni salary survey (2024 wave: 1,200+ respondents). Cross-referenced with offer letters when available. Gulf and international ranges sourced from public airline disclosures.
Limitations: Self-reported data has inherent bias. Alumni who made it to higher-paying roles are more likely to respond. Wings publishes a band, not a single number, to address this.
Status: Verified
Source: Google Business Profile reviews scraped via Outscraper API.
Current snapshot (2026-04-30 12:54:24 UTC): 333 total Google reviews. Average: 4.8★. Quality-filtered subset shown on site: 185 (4-5 star with text).
Methodology: Aggregate counts mirror the public Google Business Profile. Inline review cards show only the filtered subset (4-5 star, ≥20 char text, spam/duplicates excluded). View on Google Maps directly: Wings Institute Google reviews.
2026 Goal: 1,000 reviews via review-velocity engine.
Limitations: All reviews are from genuine students. Wings does not pay for reviews. Google's review filtering may include or exclude reviews based on its own policies.
Status: Verified — by employer category
Source: Direct recruiter relationship logs.
Definition: "Active recruiter relationship" = employer has hired ≥1 Wings alumnus in last 24 months OR conducted a campus visit / virtual recruitment in last 12 months.
Methodology: Maintained in internal placement CRM. Each employer tagged by industry, last hire date, last campus visit.
Limitations: Some "relationships" are recruiter-maintained but not always active in a given quarter. Wings reports both active and historical recruiter relationships transparently.
Status: Verified
Source: Faculty CVs + LinkedIn + faculty members' personal industry certifications (e.g. ex-airline DGCA cabin-crew clearance, IATA travel-agent training, IHA hotel certifications). These belong to individual instructors and do not constitute institute-level accreditation by DGCA, IATA or IHA.
Definition: "Industry-experienced faculty" means each instructor has minimum 5 years industry experience or personally holds active industry certifications relevant to their teaching subject.
Methodology: Faculty roster published on wingsinstitute.com/team with role, qualifications, and certifications. Available on individual /team/[slug] pages.
Limitations: Some industry certifications are airline/hotel-internal and cannot be publicly verified in third-party databases.
