DG Class (Dangerous Goods Classes 1–9)

Definition:

Nine UN-defined hazard classes used by IATA DGR — explosives (1), gases (2), flammable liquids (3), flammable solids (4), oxidisers (5), toxic (6), radioactive (7), corrosives (8), miscellaneous incl. lithium batteries (9).

Context & Usage

Every dangerous-goods shipment is labelled with its class. Class 9 lithium-battery rules tighten almost every IATA DGR edition.
